About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Newborn Hearing Screen Technician to join our team at Pediatrix Medical Group. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the early detection and intervention of hearing loss in newborns.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct newborn hearing screens in a hospital setting, utilizing video and printed tools to educate parents about the importance of the screen.
  • Enter patient data and validate hearing screen results accurately.
  • Assist with confirming or rescheduling outpatient appointments, addressing equipment issues, and training new staff.
  • Perform newborn hearing screens, verify insurance information, document hearing screen results, and follow protocol for timely submission of billing.
  • Adhere to hospital, company, and program policies related to security, identification, infection control, and safety awareness.
  • Recognize potential problems and obtain assistance when necessary in a timely manner.
Requirements
  • Experience working with infants is preferred.
  • Experience in a hospital setting is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Computer proficiency and ability to perform accurate data entry.
  • Ability to prioritize daily tasks and assignments.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work on weekends and national holidays is required.
  • Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand and walk frequently (95% of shift).
  • Ability to push/pull up to 100 pounds frequently.
Education and Experience

A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required. One to three months of related experience is preferred.
