Job Title: Speech-Language Pathologist

Position Overview: We are seeking a compassionate and driven Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team. The Speech-Language Pathologist will play an integral role in assessing, diagnosing, and treating communication disorders in students. We are looking for a dynamic professional who is dedicated to providing exceptional services and supporting the communication needs of our diverse student population.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assessment and Intervention: Conduct comprehensive speech and language assessments to evaluate students' communication abilities and identify areas of need. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and intervention strategies to address speech, language, and communication disorders.
  • Collaboration and Consultation: Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support students' communication skills in the classroom and educational settings. Provide consultation and training to school staff on strategies for supporting students with communication disorders.
  • Progress Monitoring and Record Keeping: Monitor student progress, collect data, and adjust intervention plans as needed to promote growth and achievement. Maintain accurate and confidential records of assessments, progress reports, and therapy sessions.

Requirements:

  • Education and Certification: Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program. Valid Alabama state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP). Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). Alabama Educator Certification in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) issued by the Alabama State Department of Education.
  • Experience and Skills: Previous experience working as a Speech-Language Pathologist in a school or educational setting preferred. Strong knowledge of assessment tools, intervention strategies, and best practices in speech-language pathology. Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills. Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion in education and speech-language services.
