Role Summary

The Catering Manager is responsible for crafting all Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) for private functions, engaging with clients to ensure an exceptional guest experience, overseeing event production, and guaranteeing flawless execution by the service team.

Key Responsibilities

Client Engagement:

  • Manage all inquiries related to private events.
  • Advise clients on menu selections that showcase our culinary expertise and align with their needs and budget.
  • Coordinate the preparation of BEOs, considering client specifications and financial constraints.
  • Establish the service flow for each event.
  • Assess staffing requirements for each occasion.
  • Participate in regular meetings to discuss event logistics.
  • Prepare all necessary documentation for events and provide clear instructions for the service team.
  • Maintain communication with culinary staff regarding any updates to BEOs.
  • Ensure consistent client communication before and after events.

Event Execution:

  • Verify that all logistical needs, including tables, linens, and power sources, are met for each event.
  • Assign staff to specific roles based on experience and event requirements.
  • Lead daily briefings to review event schedules and assignments.
  • Monitor the timely execution of events to ensure compliance with BEOs.
  • Conduct pre-event walkthroughs to ensure setups meet client expectations.
  • Oversee the breakdown of event spaces and manage the return of rented items.

Financial Management:

  • Handle all billing for private clients and manage payment processes post-event.
  • Oversee monthly billing procedures.
  • Generate premium bills during high-occupancy events.

Additional Duties:

  • Supervise all catering events and team members throughout service.
  • Conduct monthly inventory assessments.
  • Manage labor tracking and reporting.
  • Recruit and train new staff members.
  • Communicate effectively across various levels, including management and clients.
  • Generate BEOs for regular sports seasons and playoffs.
  • Ensure compliance with service standards and operational procedures.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the catering pantry.
  • Collaborate with culinary leaders during events.
Qualifications

  • Experience in food service and hospitality management.
  • ServSafe Certification.
  • Strong computer proficiency.
