About the Role

The Farris lab at the Fralin Biomedical Research Institute is seeking a highly motivated Research Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our research group, you will be responsible for conducting molecular and cellular neurobiology experiments, including rodent intrahippocampal infusion surgeries, maintaining the mouse colony and genotyping, and assisting with lab-related administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform molecular and cellular neurobiology experiments
  • Maintain the mouse colony and perform genotyping
  • Assist with lab-related administrative tasks, such as ordering lab supplies and maintaining lab equipment
  • Participate in lab meetings, analyze data, and assist in the preparation of figures for peer-reviewed publication and presentations

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience working with rodents
  • Demonstrated laboratory research experience in a neuroscience or molecular biology laboratory
  • Demonstrated attention to detail, organizational skills, and excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
