About the Role

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of inclusive education practices, possess excellent communication skills, and be committed to fostering an inclusive and supportive classroom environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Individualized Education Plans (IEPs): Develop and implement IEPs for students with disabilities in collaboration with parents/guardians, support staff, and related service providers.
  • Curriculum Adaptation: Adapt and modify curriculum materials to meet the unique needs and abilities of students with disabilities, ensuring accessibility and promoting learning.
  • Instructional Strategies: Employ various instructional strategies, accommodations, and assistive technologies to facilitate student engagement and success.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or a related field.
  • Valid teaching certification or licensure for Special Education in Illinois.
  • Minimum 1+ years of experience working as a Special Education Teacher, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Understanding of individualized instruction, behavior management techniques, and evidence-based interventions.
