MISSION STATEMENT:
The position of a Nursing Supervisor at Resorts at Pooler is dedicated to delivering individualized nursing care to residents, ensuring that care standards are upheld, and consistently providing exceptional resident care. This role requires the individual to be a collaborative team member, a guiding leader, and an effective supervisor to promote efficient operations and high-quality care, while also recognizing the contributions of team members.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Facilitate the orientation and training of new nursing staff and support their continuous professional growth.
- Design and communicate shift responsibilities for nursing personnel, assess their performance, and ensure adherence to nursing protocols.
- Assist with scheduling as required.
- Support the documentation process for new admissions to the facility as necessary.
- Relay information regarding resident conditions, needs, and concerns to relevant departments and nursing staff during shift transitions.
- Ensure that all nursing staff comply with established departmental policies and procedures.
- Keep the Director of Nursing and Unit Managers informed about staff, resident, family, and facility matters, and assist in developing solutions as needed.
- Review reports from previous shifts, following up on resident care and related matters as necessary.
- Assist in assessing the performance of nursing staff.
- Investigate resident and family grievances and incidents.
- Effectively manage nursing resources, ensuring the availability of necessary supplies and the delivery of quality care to residents.
- Provide professional nursing care to residents.
- Contribute to the creation and revision of individualized care plans and assessments for each resident.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents, consistently meeting their needs.
- Keep precise and updated records, documentation, and charts of residents' medical treatments.
- Adhere to established departmental, facility, and corporate policies and procedures, as well as quality improvement initiatives and safety standards.
- Engage in training, educational programs, and orientation sessions to maintain licensure and enhance the quality of care.
- Provide leadership to the nursing staff, fostering a sense of loyalty to the organization by setting a positive example.
- Participate in any assigned or requested related activities.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) / Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in New Jersey.
- Preferred experience in Long Term Care / Nursing Home / Nursing Facility / Sub-acute Rehabilitation.
- Minimum of a Nursing degree from an accredited institution and a graduate of an approved RN / LPN program.
- Acceptance of Multi-State Licenses.
