About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Veterinary Technician to join our team at the Houston Humane Society. As a Veterinary Technician, you will play a critical role in providing medical care to animals in need. Responsibilities:

  • Assist veterinarians with medical procedures, including exams, vaccinations, and surgeries.
  • Maintain accurate records of patient data, including medical history, test results, and treatment plans.
  • Prepare and administer medications, vaccines, and other treatments as prescribed by veterinarians.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to clients, answering questions and addressing concerns in a professional manner.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of one year of experience working as a veterinary technician or assistant.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent required; certification preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, veterinarians, and other staff members.
  • Ability to lift patients and equipment up to 30 pounds without assistance.
  • Familiarity with medical software and computer systems.
