Staff Accountant Job Description

Rivers Casino is seeking a highly skilled Staff Accountant to join our team. As a Staff Accountant, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and completeness of our financial transactions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and review financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, to ensure compliance with GAAP.
  • Accounting and Auditing: Assist in the preparation of federal and state filings, and participate in audits by internal and external auditors.
  • Financial Analysis: Analyze financial data to identify trends and areas for improvement, and provide recommendations to management.
  • Accounting Systems: Maintain and update accounting systems, including general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, including the Illinois Gaming Board Statewide Voluntary Self-Exclusion Program.
Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
  • Skills: Excellent research and problem-solving skills, with a high level of attention to detail. Excellent oral and written communication skills, with ability to develop key relationships across all departments.
  • Experience: 1-2 years of experience in accounting or a related field.
