PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION:
To efficiently set up, adjust, maintain, and operate laser systems along with manual, NC, and CNC presses and cutting machines.
Utilize advanced computerized manufacturing technologies to oversee the initial stages of the fabrication process.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Employ computerized manufacturing technologies or related systems to fulfill production and customer demands.
  • Execute setup tasks on fabrication machinery and safety devices as per production documentation.
  • Arrange production materials and tools, ensuring adherence to specified dimensions according to blueprints.
  • Operate and fine-tune various equipment, including controllers, while modifying programs in accordance with production documentation.
  • Achieve established performance metrics to ensure production timelines are adhered to.
  • Follow all relevant safety protocols and report any unsafe conditions or potential hazards to the team leader or designated resource.
  • Guarantee that products and systems comply with nVent's quality standards.
  • Conduct inspections to verify that dimensional specifications are met as per blueprints.
  • Carry out designated preventative maintenance tasks and assist maintenance personnel and external resources in troubleshooting systems.
  • Act promptly and inform the appropriate resource when issues arise regarding equipment, operations, or materials.
  • Engage actively as a team member in continuous improvement initiatives to satisfy customer requirements.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace.
    •Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Preferred: 1 year of experience with CNC manufacturing equipment.
  • Preferred: 3+ years of experience in a production environment.
  • Proficient in computer applications such as Windows Word, Excel, Outlook, JD Edwards, and Radan.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
  • Comprehensive understanding of all operations within the assigned production process.
  • Familiarity with safety policies and procedures, with the ability to promote adherence to them.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Forklift certification or the ability to obtain one.
  • Capability to lift, slide, and maneuver heavy materials.
  • Proficient in using measuring tools (e.g., tape measure, caliper).
  • Ability to identify and support continuous improvement initiatives alongside the Production Supervisor.
  • Commitment to sustaining and promoting lean manufacturing and 5S practices.
  • Ability to maintain a tidy and organized workspace to facilitate manufacturing operations.
  • Adaptability to rapidly changing business conditions and the ability to thrive in a dynamic work environment.
