Alameda County Sheriff's Office - Recruiting Unit is seeking dedicated and experienced individuals to join our team as Deputy Sheriffs II.
In this role, you will play a vital part in maintaining public safety and upholding the law within Alameda County.
Responsibilities:- Provide supervision and oversight to inmates within our correctional facilities.
- Conduct patrols to enforce laws and maintain order within designated areas.
- Process and serve civil documents as required.
- Ensure order and security within court proceedings.
- Contribute to special investigations as needed.
- Investigate circumstances surrounding death cases referred to the Coroner's office.
- Coordinate emergency services programs and volunteer activities under established guidelines.
To be considered for this position, you must meet the following requirements:
Experience:- Possess 18 months of experience as a Deputy Sheriff I within the Alameda County classified service and hold a California Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) Basic certificate.
- Alternatively, have 36 months of full-time experience as a Peace Officer in a California law enforcement agency with a separation date within 36 months of your application and a valid POST Basic certificate.
- Or, demonstrate 36 months of full-time experience as a peace officer in a law enforcement agency outside of California, accompanied by a valid Basic Course Waiver (BCW) issued by California POST.
- Hold a valid California State Motor Vehicle Operator's license by the time of appointment.
- Be at least 21 years old at the time of appointment.
- While not required to be a US citizen, you must be legally authorized to work in the United States under federal law.
- Undergo a comprehensive background investigation as part of the selection process.
- Maintain a clean criminal record with no felony convictions.
- Successfully meet specific physical requirements outlined for the position.
