Position Summary:

The role involves overseeing inventory levels and the cost management of all procured items. You will coordinate logistics for incoming shipments and provide support to fellow buyers and inventory management teams. Your objective is to source products that align with company standards within set timelines and budget constraints.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and procure assigned stock items.
  • Participate in daily inventory discussions.
  • Communicate updates regarding new and discontinued items, as well as changes in product and packaging technologies.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to assess market conditions, analyze competitive activities, and assist in formulating sales and marketing strategies.
  • Maintain cost data in AS400 for stock and fillet items.
  • Develop seasonal and annual merchandising initiatives.
  • Work with sales management to create weekly sales forecasts and purchase products to meet inventory needs.
  • Utilize supplier lead times to leverage the company's market position.
  • Ensure transport carriers comply with delivery schedules and warehouse receiving protocols.
  • Prepare purchase orders for daily receiving and provide necessary transportation instructions.
  • Respond to sales inquiries for new product sourcing.
  • Utilize the Product Request Form effectively.
  • Track freight and confirm purchase orders for incoming shipments.
  • Cross-train with buyers and inventory control for coverage during absences.
  • Handle phone inquiries.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • At least one year of relevant experience.
