Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse

Cincinnati Public Schools is seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team. As a Licensed Practical Nurse, you will provide direct patient care to students with disabilities or physical impairments, adhering to the standards of the Licensed Practical Nurse Practice Act of the State of Ohio.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct patient care demonstrating skills matching patient needs
  • Plans and provides care based on daily assessment of the patient, Individual Education Plan (IEP), Individualized Health Plan (IHP) and/or physician's orders
  • Promotes optimal patient wellness by assisting the patient to adapt to their illness or wellness state
  • Reports significant findings and changes in patient status to appropriate personnel
  • Documents and maintains clinical records in accordance with school district policies, as well as state and federal laws and regulations
  • Maintains competency and enhances professional growth and commitment to interpersonal service toward patients, parents, administration, and co-workers
  • Perform other duties as assigned; such as but not limited to, providing back-up medical assistance for students when needed
Requirements:
  • State Certification to practice as evidenced by current state licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse
  • Motor Vehicle Operator's License or ability to provide own transportation
  • Documented evidence of a minimum of 12 months experience working with children in an educational or other pediatric practice setting
  • Tracheotomy care, catheterization procedures and gastrostomy tube feeding
Benefits:
  • Starting Salary Range: $25.72 per hour
  • School year only, 7 hours per day
