Key Responsibilities:- Provide direct patient care demonstrating skills matching patient needs
- Plans and provides care based on daily assessment of the patient, Individual Education Plan (IEP), Individualized Health Plan (IHP) and/or physician's orders
- Promotes optimal patient wellness by assisting the patient to adapt to their illness or wellness state
- Reports significant findings and changes in patient status to appropriate personnel
- Documents and maintains clinical records in accordance with school district policies, as well as state and federal laws and regulations
- Maintains competency and enhances professional growth and commitment to interpersonal service toward patients, parents, administration, and co-workers
- Perform other duties as assigned; such as but not limited to, providing back-up medical assistance for students when needed
- Interprets assessment findings and conveys information to parents and school staff
- Consults with school staff, parents, administrators, physicians, community and other professionals in order to gather and communicate information to meet the needs of students
- Continues to acquire professional knowledge and learn of current developments in the educational field by attending seminars, workshops or professional meetings, or by conducting research, and by maintaining professional relationships
- State Certification to practice as evidenced by current state licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse
- Motor Vehicle Operator's License or ability to provide own transportation
- Documented evidence of a minimum of 12 months experience working with children in an educational or other pediatric practice setting
- Tracheotomy care, catheterization procedures and gastrostomy tube feeding
- Starting Salary Range: $25.72 per hour
- School year only, 7 hours per day
