Job Summary:
The Pre-Registration Representative will be responsible for initiating pre-registration processes for elective admissions, ensuring that all third-party payor requirements are met. This includes contacting insurance carriers to determine benefits and self-pay amounts due prior to date of service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Initiate pre-registration processes for elective admissions
- Contact insurance carriers to determine benefits and self-pay amounts due
- Ensure all third-party payor requirements are met
- Utilize the hospital information system to manage pre-registration processes
Requirements:
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Typing 35 wpm with computer knowledge and PC keyboarding skills
- Medical terminology and health insurance knowledge, including experience with Managed Care requirements
- 1-year business-related experience preferred, with strong communication and problem-solving skills
