Job Title: Substance Use Disorder Counselor

Aroostook Mental Health Center is seeking a qualified Substance Use Disorder Counselor to join our team at the Houlton Outpatient office.

Job Summary:

The Substance Use Disorder Counselor will provide compassionate and respectful bio-psycho-social services to individuals seeking substance use assessment and treatment interventions. The goal is to positively engage the client and work directly with referral sources and the community about different treatment interventions that have shown to be successful with the client's clinical presentation.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide individual, group, and family counseling for clients, family, and the community.
  • Develop and maintain collaborative relationships to continue cooperative relationships with providers and the community.
  • Offer co-occurring services to individuals as needed, demonstrating AMHC's service focus treatment by creating individualized plans.
  • Demonstrate AMHC's integrity by providing case management functions to continue all services with excellence.
Qualifications:
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required, plus a minimum of 1 year of formal or life experience is required.
  • CADC or LADC required.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relatable field is preferred.
Work Schedule:

This is a 40-hour-per-week position.
