Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Rehabilitation Counselor II to join our team at the State of Maine. As a key member of our workforce development team, you will play a critical role in providing vocational rehabilitation services to individuals with disabilities, helping them achieve their employment goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain counseling relationships with clients, providing personalized support and guidance to help them overcome barriers to employment.
  • Collaborate with schools, employers, and community partners to develop and implement effective rehabilitation plans.
  • Deliver group activities and workshops that promote career exploration, work readiness, and job placement.
  • Conduct assessments and evaluations to identify client needs and develop strategies for successful employment outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation using our computer-based client data system.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a field related to vocational rehabilitation or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a role that demonstrates knowledge and skills in assisting individuals with disabilities, employers, and other stakeholders with their employment and workforce needs.
  • Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Flexibility, problem-solving, and time management skills.
  • Ability to work well as a member of a team and build partnerships with community stakeholders.
