Job Title: Paralegal

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Paralegal to join our law firm in downtown Charleston. The successful candidate will support our attorneys in managing and executing a variety of tasks related to estate planning, probate, and trust administration.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Client Communication: Serve as a point of contact for clients, providing updates, answering questions, and ensuring a positive client experience.
  • Case Management: Maintain and organize client files, track deadlines, and manage calendars to ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Court Filings: Prepare and file documents with the court, ensuring compliance with all procedural requirements.
  • Trust Administration: Assist in the administration of trusts, including managing trust assets, distributions, and record-keeping.
  • Probate Process: Support attorneys in probate cases by gathering necessary documents, preparing petitions, and coordinating with courts and beneficiaries.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, or a related field. Certification from an accredited paralegal program is preferred. Willing to consider experience in lieu of education.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a paralegal, preferably in estate planning, probate, or trust administration is preferred.
  • Skills:
    • Excellent organizational and time management skills with high emphasis on meeting deadlines.
    • High attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Proficiency in using legal software (Gems, Estate Val) and Microsoft Office Suite.

    • Strong work ethic and professional demeanor.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Ability to multi-task and perform on deadline.
