Job Summary

The Diagnostic Imaging Technologist is responsible for operating diagnostic imaging equipment in a professional manner for medical diagnosis and treatment. This includes providing quality care to patients, producing high-quality radiographs, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring confidentiality. The technologist will also communicate with radiologists, physicians, patients, and other healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expedient and compassionate care to patients
  • Report equipment failures to the department manager
  • Have a working knowledge of all basic and special DI procedures
  • Position patients accurately and instruct them on breathing control
  • Perform clerical procedures, including patient reception, charging, and documentation
  • Utilize sterile technique to prevent contamination
  • Participate in the department's Quality Assurance program
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and professional bearing
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology
  • At least 1 year of mammography experience
  • Experience with 3D mammography preferred
  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or an equivalent registry in Mammography
  • Licensed by the Washington State Department of Health
  • RTRM certification
  • BLS required
Preferred Qualifications
  • Comprehensive working knowledge of mammography equipment
  • Ability to operate equipment according to established health and safety regulations
  • Working knowledge of all basic and special DI procedures
  • Ability to adapt exams to address patient care issues
  • Proficient in the use of current technology, including Microsoft Office products
Work Environment

The Diagnostic Imaging Technologist will work in a fast-paced environment with a high level of patient interaction. The technologist will be required to work on-call shifts as assigned.
