Touro University Worldwide is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Financial Aid Advisor to join our team in the Los Alamitos, CA location. As a key member of the Financial Aid Department, the successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing effective financial aid strategies to support students and their families.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Aid Counseling: Meet with students, parents, and other stakeholders to explain and discuss the details of the financial aid application and awarding processes, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations.
- Financial Aid Processing: Utilize federal, state, and internal software to process financial aid applications, determine eligibility for various aid programs, and formulate award notifications.
- Student Support: Provide exceptional customer service to students and their families, addressing their financial aid concerns and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Compliance and Regulatory Affairs: Stay up-to-date with changing federal and state regulations, ensuring that all financial aid processes and procedures are in compliance.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with interdepartmental personnel to resolve student issues and provide support to colleagues as needed.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Experience: 1-3 years of financial aid experience preferred.
- Skills: Strong customer service and organizational skills, computer literacy, and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Personal Qualities: Self-starter, able to multi-task and prioritize work, and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
