Job Summary:

As a Tire & Battery Center Technician at Sam's Club, you will play a critical role in providing safe and efficient service in both the sales and service areas of the department. Your primary responsibility will be to work collaboratively with other associates to ensure the club meets the member's expectations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Be a Team Member: Collaborate with team members to fulfill sales and service requests, educate other associates on tools, tasks, resources, and mentor new technicians, communicate and develop interpersonal skills for providing safe and efficient customer service.
  • Be an Expert: Demonstrate knowledge of safety and compliance protocols, tire and battery industry guidelines, service standards, equipment operations, TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring systems), product specifications, and seasonality, demonstrate knowledge of Point of Sale systems, phone, and in-person selling techniques.
  • Be a Techie: Leverage digital tools to plan for and drive sales, improve the service experience, and elevate associate engagement, utilize handheld technology and systems to make immediate business decisions related to services, safety alerts, new product information, product application, and training, adapt to new tools and encourage others to use them.
  • Be an Owner: Communicate equipment, tools, and supplies needs to TBC Lead, track and monitor returns and special orders, operate cash registers, process transactions, work hands-on in the physical area, maintain accurate inventory, audit, safety, and compliance standards, report TBC complaints, safety hazards, and problems with products, services, and work areas, complete paperwork, logs, and other required documentation, ensure merchandise is packaged, labeled, and stored in accordance with company policies and procedures, identify member needs, assist members with purchasing decisions, and resolve issues and concerns.
  • Be a Talent Ambassador: Be a brand advocate by valuing the member's experience in the TBC area and modeling high-quality service and products, develop, influence, and inspire others for working in a style that is respectful, supportive, and team-oriented, understand the roadblocks and assist in training team members.
  • Comply with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity by implementing related action plans, use the Open Door Policy, and apply these in executing business processes and practices.
  • Complete work assignments and priorities by using policies, data, and resources, collaborate with managers, co-workers, customers, and other business partners, identify priorities, deadlines, and expectations, carry out tasks, communicate progress and information, determine and recommend ways to address improvement opportunities, and adapt to and learn from change, difficulties, and feedback.

Education and Training:

Hourly Wage Range:

The hourly wage range for this position is $18.00 to $25.00. The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location.

Additional Compensation:

Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.
