Job Title: Speech Language Pathologist Assistant

Seguin Independent School District is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Speech Language Pathologist Assistant to join our team.

Job Summary:

The Speech Language Pathologist Assistant will provide speech and language services to eligible students under the direction of a licensed supervisor. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of habilitation and rehabilitation of speech, language, and hearing disorders.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and provide individual and group therapy to students consistent with speech/language goals contained in Individual Education Plans (IEP).
  • Participate in the Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) Committee.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to plan and implement classroom-based activities to improve oral and written language skills.
  • Attend regularly scheduled speech therapy meetings.
  • Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents required.
  • Administer routine tests as directed by supervisor.
  • Comply with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rules, and State Board of Examiners Licensing Board for Speech Language Pathology and Audiology.
  • Assist in the selection of materials, equipment, and other instructional materials.
  • Create an environment conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interest of students.
  • Establish control and administer discipline according to board policies and administrative regulations.
  • Submit schedules or reports as requested.
  • Maintain current knowledge of TEKS and assist with campus staff development as requested.
  • Conduct duties within required timelines.
  • Ability to travel to multiple work locations as assigned.

Working Conditions:

The Speech Language Pathologist Assistant will work in a fast-paced environment with a focus on providing high-quality services to students. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Remote Learning:

The Speech Language Pathologist Assistant will create a virtual classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of students. The ideal candidate will be available by phone, email, or video conferencing during indicated work hours to confer with district personnel, students, and/or parents.

Evaluation:

All employee performance will be evaluated at least annually in accordance with Board Policy. Classroom instruction will be evaluated using the statewide evaluation. Evaluation is designed to improve the quality of instruction and employee performance which may affect employment recommendations.
