About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at Sparrow Partners. As a key member of our community team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the upkeep and maintenance of our Active Adult 55+ communities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain the integrity of all physical structures, ensuring safety standards are met and a well-maintained living environment for community members, visitors, and team members.
  • Ensure the community meets Sparrow's standards for show quality through daily inspections.
  • Anticipate, identify, and resolve maintenance issues in a timely manner.
  • Utilize YARDI to track work orders and make ready progress.
  • Maintain fire sprinklers, backflow, panel, and alarm compliance, including inspections and updated permits.
  • Keep a clean work area, tools, and equipment, and be responsible for obtaining, maintaining, caring for, and inventorying all supplies and equipment owned by the property and/or the management company.
  • Achieve high expectations for the upkeep of the community and address maintenance concerns swiftly.
  • Practice proper safety techniques in accordance with Company, property, and departmental policies, procedures, and standards.
Leadership and Community Focus
  • Develop strong personal relationships with community members.
  • Achieve high community member satisfaction and promote retention.
  • Provide hospitable and high-quality service to ensure a memorable experience for all.
Requirements
  • Has a professional working knowledge of all aspects of maintenance repair and service and a valid driver's license.
  • Proven experience in HVAC/maintenance repairs, preferably in lease-ups, multifamily housing, Active Adult, or hospitality.
  • HVAC/Pool Certifications and experience preferred.
  • Must have strong plumbing and electrical skills.
  • Must possess strong attention to detail.
  • Experience using YARDI or other property management software.
  • Effective communication skills with an ability to build collaborative partnerships.
  • Servant leader mindset and passionate about making a difference in others' lives.
  • Devoted sense of accountability and solution-oriented.
  • Must have general knowledge of OSHA, ADA, and Fair Housing regulations.
  • Must have reliable transportation; flexibility to work a regular Mon - Fri schedule and nights, weekends, and/or holidays when required - on call pay available.
  • Must be able to physically access all exterior and interior parts of the property and amenities; must be able to push, pull, lift, carry, or maneuver weights of up to twenty (20) pounds independently and fifty (50) pounds with assistance.
