Role Overview
As a vital member of the Nando's team, the Sanitation Specialist ensures that our culinary offerings are presented on immaculate dishes and glassware, enhancing the overall dining experience.

Key Responsibilities
The Sanitation Specialist is responsible for cleaning and sanitizing all kitchenware, including dishes, glassware, utensils, and pots. This role also involves maintaining the organization and cleanliness of the dishwashing area, dish machines, and storage spaces.

In addition to these duties, the Sanitation Specialist collaborates with team members to keep other areas of the restaurant clean, assists in receiving and organizing supplies, and supports basic food preparation tasks as needed.

Essential Duties

  • Operate dishwashing machines and pot sinks according to company and manufacturer guidelines.
  • Accurately measure and apply cleaning chemicals, including detergents and sanitizers.
  • Ensure that dishwashing equipment is well-maintained and calibrated to meet sanitation standards.
  • Notify management of any maintenance or repair needs within the facility.
  • Utilize and mix cleaning agents as instructed.
  • Perform floor cleaning tasks, including sweeping and mopping.
  • Restock all kitchenware, including dishes, glassware, utensils, and pots.
  • Dispose of all waste and recyclables appropriately.
  • Thoroughly clean and sanitize dishwashing equipment at the end of each shift.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in dish and storage areas.

Qualifications

  • Ability to learn and adhere to basic sanitation guidelines and dishwashing operations.
  • Effective communication skills with colleagues and supervisors.
  • Physical capability to handle kitchen equipment and transport items weighing up to 80 pounds.
  • Knowledge of proper usage and handling of kitchen machinery, including dishwashers, slicers, ovens, and stoves.
  • Understanding of safe handling practices for various cleaning chemicals.
