Position Overview
The role of the Plant Technical Services Manager is pivotal in collaborating with the management team at designated facilities to enhance quality and production efficiencies within plant operations. This position is dedicated to spearheading process improvement initiatives, troubleshooting issues, and identifying operational needs to uphold quality, reliability, and production standards while ensuring adherence to environmental, health, and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive evaluations of manufacturing processes to pinpoint inefficiencies.
- Formulate and execute strategies aimed at process enhancements, with an emphasis on waste reduction and productivity improvement.
- Apply statistical tools and methodologies to assess and monitor process performance.
- Champion continuous improvement projects throughout the manufacturing facility.
- Identify, define, and lead initiatives at the assigned site that are intended to lower overall costs while enhancing safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.
- Cultivate and maintain a robust understanding of relevant codes and regulations.
- Oversee quality assurance activities at the site to ensure the delivery of high-quality products that align with customer expectations and standards, while also managing enhancements to the site’s quality management system.
Expectations for This Role
- Responsible for managing professional staff and/or supervisors or overseeing large, intricate technical or business support teams.
- Accountable for the performance and outcomes of a team within the designated discipline or function.
- Adjust departmental plans and priorities to meet resource and operational challenges.
- Decision-making is guided by established policies, procedures, and business plans, with guidance from senior management.
- Provide technical support and guidance to team members, colleagues, and customers.
Minimum Qualifications & Skills
- A Bachelor's Degree is required, with a preference for Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering.
- 5-7 years of relevant experience is required.
- Lean Six Sigma certification or Yellow/Green/Black Belt is advantageous.
Physical Requirements and Working Environment
- Must be capable of standing or sitting for extended periods.
- Ability to work in both plant and office settings.
- Working conditions may involve exposure to dust, fumes, moderate noise, and uneven surfaces.
