Registered Nurse (RN) - Acute Care for the Elderly

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Acute Care for the Elderly (ACE) Unit at Christiana Hospital in Newark, DE.

In this role, you will work closely with our interdisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care to older adults facing acute illness. Our focus is on maintaining function, providing education, and ensuring patient safety.

As a member of our 6A team, you will engage in a relationship-based care model, building genuine relationships with patients, families, and peers. Our values of love and excellence guide our practice.

Responsibilities include managing a team of 5 medical patients per shift and collaborating with our interdisciplinary team, including a unit-based Nurse Practitioner, attending and consulted physicians, pharmacy, physical therapist, and other assistive personnel.

Requirements:
  • BSN required; ADNs candidates must commit to obtaining BSN within three years of hire
  • At least one year of experience in gerontology or acute care
  • Gerontology Certification preferred
  • BLS required
