Job Summary

This position is responsible for collaborating with management, maintenance, and production staff to ensure the safe and efficient operation of production equipment and plant facilities.

This role requires the completion of all assigned preventative maintenance (PM) duties, including scheduled tasks as described in the Master Sanitation Program.

This position demands flexibility, as it requires availability for emergency call-ins and occasional weekend and holiday work. The ideal candidate must be self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform all scheduled PMs as assigned, including Master Sanitation Program tasks.
  • Conduct emergency and scheduled repairs on machines.
  • Maintain accurate and neat record-keeping for PMs and Master Sanitation Program.
  • Collaborate with management and factory personnel to effectively schedule, source parts/supplies, and make repairs to equipment and other assigned duties.
Required Skills and Abilities
  • Strong listening skills and ability to ask questions to understand instructions for work-related activities.
  • Takes initiative to complete tasks with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Works as a team with a positive attitude and behaviors.
  • Verbal and written communication skills, including ability to read, understand, and follow written procedures (SOPs).
  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment and systems, including HVAC, refrigeration, boilers, general electrical, and VFDs.
  • Basic plumbing and carpentry skills.
  • Basic understanding of PLCs and process engineering principles.
  • Meet physical demands of the role, including honesty and high level of integrity, high degree of personal hygiene per GMPs, and dependable attendance to meet business demands.
Education and Experience

High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Food manufacturing experience preferred but not required.

Physical Requirements
  • Moderately strenuous work involving standing, walking with frequent bending, twisting, pushing, and squatting; repetitive lifting of up to 50 lbs.
  • Fast-paced clean environment; frequently cool, wet, and moderate noise along with working with chemicals.
