Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled CT Technologist to join our team at Carle Health. As a CT Technologist, you will be responsible for performing computerized axial tomography procedures, utilizing various imaging equipment and contrast material. You will prepare and administer contrast material based on Carle policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform computerized axial tomography procedures and assigned invasive procedures by acquiring and processing patient exams in accordance with accrediting bodies and/or manufacturer guidelines and as outlined in department protocols.
  • Administer IV contrast, and oral/rectal contrast when appropriate, and recognize and respond to any adverse reactions or allergic reactions.
  • Screen patients for possibility of pregnancy and perform pregnancy testing if applicable.
  • Ensure patient, visitor, and environmental safety, and report safety events immediately, including those that are a near miss.
  • Assist in instruction of students and new staff as necessary, and may perform duties of CT Lead or Imaging Coordinator in their absence.
  • Meet productivity levels as established by department benchmarking, and assist other areas during downtimes to maintain productivity.
Requirements
  • Associate's Degree in Related Field or Certificate in Radiologic Technology.
  • Certification & Licensure Requirements: Radiography (R)(ARRT) upon hire or Nuclear Medicine Tech Certification (NMTCB) upon hire and IEMA Radiography License upon hire and Computed Tomography (CT)(ARRT) within 1 year and Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days.
  • Demonstrated technical expertise in radiology.
  • Positive attitude and demonstrated willingness to assess and improve work environment.
