About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate individual to join our team as a Cashier/Kitchen Assistant at Thomas Cuisine. As a key member of our hospital team, you will play a vital role in enhancing the patient experience by providing exceptional customer service and ensuring the smooth operation of our hospital caf.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Provide friendly, personalized service to patients, visitors, and staff, resolving inquiries and complaints in a courteous manner.
  • Cleanliness and Organization: Maintain a clean and organized caf environment, adhering to health and safety standards.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor and restock supplies, ensuring inventory levels are maintained.
  • Cash Handling and POS Operation: Handle transactions accurately using the POS system and balance cash drawers.
  • Team Collaboration: Work effectively with team members and hospital staff for smooth operations.
  • Menu Knowledge: Stay informed about menu items and make recommendations based on customer preferences.
  • Special Requests: Accommodate dietary needs and prepare beverage orders for hospital events.
  • Professional Development: Participate in training to enhance barista skills and stay updated on industry trends.
  • Supportive Environment: Create a welcoming atmosphere, offering compassionate interactions to support hospital patrons.
Requirements
  • Previous Kitchen Assistant Experience: Preferred, preferably in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong Customer Service Skills: With a friendly and professional demeanor.
  • Ability to Work Efficiently: Under pressure, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic Math Skills: For cash handling and inventory management.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety Regulations: Related to food and beverage service.
  • Flexibility: To work various shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to Stand for Extended Periods: And perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Positive Attitude: And willingness to collaborate with a diverse team.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent: Additional training in hospitality or a related field is a plus.
