Patient Care Technician

At Indiana University Health, we are seeking a skilled Patient Care Technician to join our team. As a Patient Care Technician, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our patients and families.
About the Role:This is a dynamic and challenging role that requires a high level of compassion, empathy, and communication skills. As a Patient Care Technician, you will work closely with our nursing team to provide direct patient care, including vital sign monitoring, medication administration, and wound care. You will also be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment, preparing patients for procedures, and providing emotional support to patients and families.
Responsibilities:- Provide direct patient care, including vital sign monitoring, medication administration, and wound care
- Maintain a clean and safe environment, including preparing patients for procedures
- Provide emotional support to patients and families
- Work closely with the nursing team to ensure seamless patient care
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety
- Current Basic Life Support certification through the AHA or attainment at the completion of the IU Health PCA education program
- Knowledge of care appropriate to the age and developmental level of the patients served
- Up-to-date knowledge of procedures and standards related to patient care activities
- Proficiency in interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to maintain concentration when subjected to frequent and varied interruptions and variable noise levels
