Senior Electrical Engineer Position

MK2 Engineers is a leading consulting engineering firm with 24 years of experience specializing in designing MEP building systems. We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team in Fairfield, California.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design electrical power and lighting systems for new construction, retrofits, and system upgrades
- Perform electrical load calculations, voltage drop calculations, and short circuit studies
- Prepare and document required code research for projects
- Develop specifications, technical reports, and system narratives
- Conduct site investigations, field visits, and construction support services
- Oversee QA/QC process of projects, including drafting
- Collaborate with team members of other disciplines in our integrated collaborative environment
- Interface with clients and consultants, including consulting architects, civil, and structural engineers
- Provide labor estimates to support proposal writing
Requirements:
- 10 years of electrical system design experience in US-based A/E firms or design-build contractors
- 5 years of consulting engineering experience in California
- California PE license
- BSEE degree from an accredited university
- Proficiency in California Electrical Code, CA Title 24 Energy Standards, NEC, and NFPA
Desired Qualifications:
- Expertise in electrical system design and electrical design software
- Proficiency in AutoCAD design
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with strong organizational and people skills
