About the Role

Penn State Health is seeking a highly skilled Advanced Practice Provider to join our Cardiothoracic Surgery team at Holy Spirit Medical Center. As a key member of our team, you will provide exceptional patient care, work collaboratively with surgeons and other healthcare professionals, and contribute to the development of our surgical services.

Responsibilities
  • Provide preoperative and postoperative patient care, including test interpretation and patient referral under the supervision of the surgeon.
  • Assist in the operating room, performing tasks such as preparing patients for surgery, administering medications, and maintaining a safe and efficient surgical environment.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans, taking into account the unique needs and goals of each patient.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless communication and coordination of care.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program.
  • Current certification as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner in the State of Pennsylvania.
  • Experience in cardiothoracic surgery or a related field.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities.
