Shift: 6:00 am - 3:30 pm
Aegis Worldwide is in search of a skilled Pipe Fabrication Specialist to work with a custom industrial equipment manufacturer in the Chicagoland region. This role offers a first-shift schedule with significant opportunities for overtime.
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret custom blueprints and ensure that each weld adheres to the specifications for the respective machinery.
- Execute welds that comply with ASME code standards and successfully pass hydrostatic, x-ray, and dimensional tolerance evaluations.
- Utilize basic mechanical tools for cutting and grinding pipes.
- Perform welding tasks in accordance with ASME codes and standard welding practices.
- Employ powered saws and shears as required.
- Operate portable grinders, hand files, and scrapers when necessary.
- Use precision measuring instruments to verify grooves and angles.
- Maintain equipment in proper working condition and conduct repairs as needed.
- Conduct quality assurance tests on welds, including hydrostatic, x-ray, and dimensional tolerance assessments.
- Weld components in flat, vertical, and overhead positions.
- Interpret and execute work based on technical drawings and plans.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in pipe welding.
- Proficiency in MIG and TIG welding techniques.
- Basic mechanical skills and pipe fitting knowledge.
- Ability to pass an ASME-certified G6 test (GMAW, GTAW).
- Capability to read mechanical blueprints and understand welding symbols.
- Ability to pass X-ray examinations.
- Familiarity with a variety of hand tools, both powered and manual.
