Job Overview

Position Summary:

The Registered Nurse for the Short Stay Unit is responsible for delivering high-quality patient care through a comprehensive approach. This role involves assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the care needs of patients in a surgical environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough assessments and develop individualized care plans.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of patient care in compliance with healthcare standards.
  • Oversee and guide the care provided by team members based on their qualifications and competencies.
  • Commit to ongoing professional development and education to enhance nursing practice.
  • Contribute to the formulation and adherence to hospital policies, procedures, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Perform additional duties as required to support the unit's operations.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Must possess a degree from an accredited School of Nursing.
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is preferred.
  • Specialty certification is advantageous.

Experience:

  • A minimum of three years of experience in an acute care hospital setting is required.
  • Experience in surgical admissions and Phase II discharge is preferred.

Licensure and Certifications:

  • Must hold a valid nursing license in the State of Oregon.
  • Basic Life Support certification is required upon hire.
  • ACLS and PALS certifications must be obtained within six months of hire or transfer.

Compensation: $74.48 per hour
