Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Kitchen Steward to join our team at Salt Wood Kitchen and Oysterette. As a Kitchen Steward, you will play a critical role in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our kitchen, ensuring that our culinary team has the resources they need to deliver exceptional dining experiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Wash and sanitize dishes, glassware, and utensils in a timely and efficient manner.
• Operate dishwashing and other kitchen cleaning equipment to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
• Restock supplies, such as food and utensils, in serving stations, cupboards, and refrigerators.
• Maintain kitchen work areas, equipment, and utensils in a clean and orderly condition.
• Sweep and wash floors and clean trash cans to ensure a clean and safe working environment.
• Sort and remove trash, placing it in designated pickup areas.
• Perform food preparation functions in the event of staffing shortages or during peak periods.
• Be aware of guest satisfaction scores and work towards increasing departmental and overall guest satisfaction.
• Practice safe work habits, wear protective safety equipment, and follow MSDS and OSHA standards.
• Perform other duties as requested by management.

Requirements

• Previous stewarding experience or equivalent training is preferred.
• Positive mental attitude and a strong work ethic are essential.

Work Environment and Context

• Work schedule varies and may include working on holidays, weekends, and other days as needed.
• Requires standing for extended periods, walking, pushing, lifting up to 50 pounds, bending, and reaching.
