About the Role

CUES Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Software Developer to join our team. As a Software Developer, you will play a critical role in the development, implementation, and maintenance of Linux software applications for our networked systems of edge nodes designed to inspect underground infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Software Development: Work with our engineering team to gather and define project requirements, design, code, debug, and verify C++ Linux software applications, APIs, and scripts that meet project specifications.
  • Support: Provide inter-departmental support by assisting with issue identification and resolution affecting production and customers, provide intra-departmental support by generating software for testing and capturing test data within the engineering department, supply regular status updates to engineering teams and management, and attend engineering team meetings as required.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process or software improvements, collaborate with team members to implement enhancements and streamline workflows, and participate in retrospectives and feedback sessions to continuously improve team performance and software quality.
Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum 8 years' experience in systems using Linux as the primary O.S., proficient programming in at least two of the following: C, C++, Linux shell scripting such as bash, or Python, experience in writing robust code that is very reliable and is used in a production environment, and experience with standard MS Office Suite including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience: Years of relevant work experience is preferred, experience with Debian or Ubuntu Linux is preferred, experience with socket level programming is preferred, experience with vision systems using G-streamer is a plus, experience with QT and QML is a plus, and experience with networking is a plus.
Work Environment

CUES Inc. is an office-based environment with a standard 8AM – 5PM, Monday – Friday schedule. Overtime may be required to complete projects on schedule. Possible travel to customer sites may be necessary. The office environment requires the ability to use computers and office equipment, light lifting, and other physical requirements necessary to perform essential job functions.
