Job Summary:
The Patient Care Assistant plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of patients as directed. This position is responsible for maintaining effective and secure operations within the unit while delivering exceptional customer service. The assistant is authorized to transition patients from portable oxygen to wall-mounted oxygen systems.
Education Requirements:
Minimum:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Preferred:
Current enrollment or completion of a Nursing Assistant Training Program.
Registration/Certification/Licensure:
Healthcare Provider CPR certification and Act 33/73 clearances.

Clinical experience gained through a Nursing Assistant Training Program or prior experience as a nursing assistant in an acute care environment.
Other Requirements:
Completion of Comprehensive Crisis Management training as per policy. Must complete EKG training within one year of hire or transfer. Responsible for the safe access, transport, and handling of single-dose medications, including both prescription and non-prescription drugs. Also responsible for the safe handling of sharps, such as needles and syringes.
