Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Web Press Operator to join our team at Atlas Staffing. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our web press, including production, efficiency, quality, material usage, safety, and maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Make ready press from information on the job ticket, ensuring accurate and efficient production.
  • Match press sheets to color proof, maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Relate specific job duties to crew members, promoting effective communication and teamwork.
  • Registration & Fit, ensuring precise alignment and quality control.
  • Communicate concerns to the Director of Operations, addressing press performance and crew performance.
  • Maintain press run speed standards and material usage waste standards, optimizing production efficiency.
  • Work with clients in a positive and professional manner, providing excellent customer service.
  • Pass off all pertinent information to relief crew, ensuring seamless transitions.
  • Teach, coach, and cross-train press crew, promoting skill development and knowledge sharing.
  • Read and understand E-tickets, ensuring accurate and efficient production.
  • Follow process control and quality control procedures, maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Practice safe work habits, understanding and following company and industry safety rules.
  • Follow instructions carefully and accurately, ensuring attention to detail.
  • Suggest improvements in work practices, promoting continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Understand your role in the company's Quality Management System regarding ISO, ensuring compliance and quality assurance.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Press running operations skills, with experience in web press operations.
  • Understanding of pressroom operating procedures, including safety protocols.
  • Basic printing knowledge, with an understanding of printing processes and techniques.
  • Problem-solving and trouble-shooting skills, with the ability to analyze and resolve issues.
