Job Description

Job Title: Residential Instructor

Department: Adult Services

Reports To: Residential Manager, Residential Assistant Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Residential Instructor to join our team at Community Residences. As a Residential Instructor, you will play a vital role in creating a nurturing and supportive environment for individuals with developmental disabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement individualized plans of care to promote independence and self-advocacy.
  2. Provide direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities, including assistance with daily living tasks and activities of daily living.
  3. Monitor and report any changes in an individual's medical, physical, or behavioral status to the supervisor or program coordinator.
  4. Administer medication to clients as prescribed by a licensed healthcare professional.
  5. Participate in training opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills in areas such as crisis intervention, behavioral support, and medication administration.
  6. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized plans of care.
  7. Ensure the safety and well-being of individuals in the residential setting.

Requirements:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent and at least two years of experience in the field of human services.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with individuals with developmental disabilities and their families.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to lift and transfer 70-75 pounds.
  • Valid CT driver's license and a good driving record.

Work Schedule:

Saturday-Sunday: 6:00 AM - 2:00 PM

Monday: 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM

Tuesday: 6:30 AM - 4:00 PM

Wednesday: 6:30 AM - 11:00 AM

38.5 hours per week
