Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide basic and technical level of general nursing care to patients in a variety of correctional healthcare settings.
  • Ensure the delivery of appropriate and timely healthcare to patients, in collaboration with the healthcare team.
  • Provide technical patient care under valid authorization by a provider's order and the delegation and clinical direction of the Registered Nurse.
  • Support the care team for daily healthcare operations and communicate effectively with patients and other members of the healthcare team.
  • Address the ongoing needs of patients, work with physicians and other healthcare providers, and promote the efficient, appropriate, and cost-effective use of healthcare resources.

Requirements:

  • Possession of a valid, active license from the State of California to practice as a Licensed Vocational Nurse.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced correctional environment and maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, staff, and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, and maintain accurate records and reports.
