Role Summary: The Production Scheduler is responsible for orchestrating and managing all activities necessary to facilitate the movement of orders through the manufacturing workflow.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Evaluate incoming orders for precision and completeness.
  2. Ensure that materials and shop orders are either created or in the process of being ordered for components.
  3. Monitor communications for requests to modify quantities or shipping timelines.
  4. Track the status of all active sales orders, emphasizing adherence to schedules and timely deliveries.
  5. Modify production schedules as required in response to manufacturing and supply chain challenges, keeping supervisors informed of any alterations.
  6. Perform additional duties as assigned, based on workload and organizational needs.
  7. Review Production Planning Quotes for lead times, encompassing both standard and expedited deliveries.
  8. Collaborate closely with Sales to inform them of any potential order delays.
  9. Engage with Engineering to address issues related to structures or routing.

Qualifications:

Education: High school diploma or GED is required; an Associate's degree in Business or a related field is preferred.

Experience: This position can be entry-level; however, at least one year of experience in planning, expediting, or production control within a similar high-mix/low-volume production environment is advantageous.

Skills:

  • Proficient in computer usage, particularly with ERP systems, Microsoft Windows, and Office applications.
  • Basic mathematical skills.
  • Intermediate reading comprehension abilities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to comprehend and interpret manufacturing procedures.
  • Capability to perform essential functions of subordinate roles within the department.
  • Ability to read basic engineering drawings is a plus.
