Key Responsibilities:
- Capacity Assessment & Tooling: Conduct capacity assessments, recommend changeover enhancements, and define new tooling to streamline manufacturing operations.
- Lean Methodologies: Discover and execute process enhancements with an emphasis on lean manufacturing methodologies.
- Process Modifications & Facility Initiatives: Spearhead the execution of process modifications and improvements, and assist with Factory Master Plans as required.
- Daily Operations Assistance: Employ engineering tools to support everyday manufacturing activities, ensuring high standards of quality and efficiency.
- Problem Resolution & Quality Improvement: Utilize technical problem-solving methods to assess and implement strategies for manufacturing enhancements.
- Production Constraints: Analyze and address production constraints, prioritizing safety, ergonomics, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
- Engineering Change Management: Review design, drawing, and engineering change requests, ensuring that modifications are practical, essential, and economically viable.
- Project Leadership: Initiate and oversee projects, including cost-saving initiatives and product/plant enhancements, from inception to completion.
- Cross-Departmental Team Leadership: Direct plant-level cross-departmental teams, including Engineering, Quality, Materials/Purchasing, and Production.
- Space & Equipment Strategy: Evaluate and strategize manufacturing space, equipment, tooling, personnel, and time requirements.
- Cost Efficiency & Process Enhancement: Continuously assess operations to pinpoint opportunities for improvement and cost efficiency.
- Budget Management: Prepare and submit requests for capital expenditures, operational expenses, and purchase orders.
- Effective Communication: Articulate ideas and solutions clearly to department leaders and plant management.
Essential Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in process engineering or continuous improvement within a manufacturing context.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Robust analytical, problem-solving, and leadership capabilities.
- Proficiency in relevant software tools and computer skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in a related discipline.
- Experience with Oracle ERP systems.
- Familiarity with the Toyota Production System.
- Experience with related industry products.
Educational Background:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
