Job Title: Production Supervisor

Steel Partners LLC is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Production Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our manufacturing team, you will be responsible for directing the day-to-day activities to meet production, quality, safety, and continuous improvement goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Promote a culture of safety and well-being among employees.
  • Drive continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives to optimize production processes.
  • Review production requirements and adjust work schedules to meet objectives.
  • Develop and track cost savings and productivity improvement initiatives.
  • Effectively manage shift workers, including hiring, training, employee development, performance reviews, and addressing disciplinary issues.
  • Develop the bench strength for our manufacturing teams.
  • Communicate and implement company initiatives and policies.
  • Inspect products to verify conformance to specifications and work with Quality resources to address variations.
  • Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
  • Develop metrics to improve daily and weekly efficiency, tracking performance through trending analyses.
  • Conduct weekly team meetings to promote improvement opportunities.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (associate or bachelor's degree preferred).
  • 5+ years' management or supervisory experience.
  • Manufacturing experience required.
  • Experience implementing lean manufacturing processes.
  • Understanding of fire safety procedures.
  • Strong communication, organizational, analytical, and mathematical skills.
  • Self-starter with a desire and willingness to institute change.
  • Capable of overcoming obstacles and completing assignments in a timely manner.
  • Ability to motivate individuals and teams to perform at high levels to meet and exceed goals.
  • Team-oriented approach with a desire to work in a hands-on leadership capacity.
  • Positive attitude, good judgment, and excellent time management skills.
  • Ability to effectively document performance and activities of Finishing functions.
  • Strong sense of responsibility and ownership plus a desire and willingness to institute change when needed.
  • Strong aptitude for understanding and troubleshooting mechanical processes.
  • PC skills including experience with MS Office Suite.
  • Positive can-do attitude.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to work in high noise areas and wear appropriate hearing protection devices.
  • Ability to mount/dismount forklift utilizing three points of contact (two hands and one foot).
  • Ability to work in an elevated ambient temperature environment.
  • The position requires the ability to regularly stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to walk, stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance; and occasionally lift/push/pull/carry up to 25 pounds.
