About the Role

Our team at Szabo Associates is seeking an experienced Media Debt Recovery Specialist to join our dynamic team. As a seasoned professional, you will be responsible for managing collection activities of 3rd party commercial accounts receivable on behalf of our clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • We are looking for someone who can establish and maintain effective collection and sales standards, processes, and methodologies that align with company policies, procedures, and service standards.
  • This role requires high production standards to resolve accounts on a timely basis from start to finish, including daily calls to contact debtor accounts.
  • You will perform payment negotiations to secure payment in full or establish reasonable repayment schedules by telephone, coupled by written communication and in-person/field visits.
  • Initial and ongoing skip tracing, including asset and background investigations into business accounts and its principals, is also a key responsibility.
  • You will research and resolve account discrepancies, as well as perform monthly, quarterly, and annual cash collection and sales forecasts.
  • Understanding current industry market trends to determine adjustments to strategic goals and priorities is essential.
  • Maintaining effective work-related communication with all team members and providing quality, professional, and prompt customer service to internal and external clients is crucial.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of 1-3 years of credit and collection experience in a structured yet fast-paced collection and sales climate is required.
  • A college degree is preferred, but a high school diploma with comparable experience is considered.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication/presentation skills, as well as the ability to adapt to technical upgrades, are necessary.
  • Maintaining a positive and cooperative rapport with staff, management, and clients, as well as working under continual deadline pressure with extreme accuracy, is essential.
  • The ability to work extra hours if needed, strong math and data analysis skills, proven proficiency in prioritizing critical issues, and demonstrated planning and organizational skills are also required.

Our ideal candidate has a strong understanding of litigation and bankruptcy processes, knowledge of business entities in relation to accounts receivable collections, and familiarity with the Fair Debt Collection Practice Act (FDCPA).
