Position Summary:
The Physician III is responsible for performing highly advanced and managerial medical, clinical, or public health functions. This role operates under the general supervision of the Medical Director or their designee, focusing on directing medical and infection control initiatives, monitoring trends, and proposing enhancements.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide high-quality medical evaluations and treatments for patients experiencing psychiatric disorders.
2. Supervise and guide physicians and nurse practitioners within the medical clinic.
3. Serve as a resource for infection control and offer consultation to general medical practitioners.
4. Deliver care to state hospital employees who sustain injuries during their work duties.
5. Operate with minimal supervision, exercising considerable initiative and independent judgment.
6. Fulfill on-call responsibilities as assigned.
Additional Duties:
Participate actively in supporting the agency's disaster response and recovery obligations or Continuity of Operations (COOP) activation, which may necessitate adjustments in work shifts or locations.
Shift Information:
This position may qualify for additional compensation for work performed during evenings, nights, and weekends.
