Personnel Administration Specialist

As a key member of the Human Resources team, you will function as a HUMAN RESOURCES ASSISTANT within the Manpower and Personnel Division. Your role will be essential in supporting the mission and objectives of the Naval Reserve Force.
Eligibility Criteria
- Career transition candidates, including surplus or displaced federal employees.
- Current or former competitive service federal employees.
- Individuals with disabilities.

- Veterans and individuals eligible under special hiring authorities.
- Provide comprehensive personnel services related to reserve pay and personnel accounts.
- Maintain and update Enlisted Service Records with new data.
- Monitor and verify the receipt of service records, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Facilitate the onboarding of personnel into new reserve units and manage transfers.
- Process separations, administrative discharges, and enlistment actions.
- Assist reserve units with the management of the Reserve Unit Action Document (RUAD), ensuring timely updates prior to drill weekends.
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Must be suitable for federal employment.
- Participation in the direct deposit pay program is mandatory.
- New hires must pass the E-Verify employment verification check.
- Compliance with time-in-grade requirements is necessary for current federal employees.
- Must maintain a security clearance as required.
To qualify, candidates must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 grade level, including:
- Experience in technical personnel administrative tasks, showcasing knowledge of reserve personnel administration and pay systems.
- Ability to process military HR actions and determine entitlements.
- Experience in maintaining and auditing reserve pay and personnel accounts.
- Proficiency in preparing financial reports related to reserve pay.
- Familiarity with Joint Federal Travel Regulations (JFTR) for service members.
This position is part of the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. Candidates may be considered for additional vacancies through this announcement.
