Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Clinical Dialysis Technician to join our team at Henry Ford Health System. As a Clinical Dialysis Technician, you will play a vital role in providing dialysis treatments and ensuring the well-being of our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform dialysis treatments according to prescribed protocols and physician orders.
  • Monitor patients during dialysis treatment, assessing vital signs and responding to any changes in condition.
  • Set up and operate dialysis machines, including performing routine maintenance and troubleshooting issues as needed.
  • Administer medications and intravenous fluids as prescribed by the physician.
  • Educate patients and their families about dialysis procedures, dietary restrictions, and self-care techniques.
  • Maintain accurate and complete medical records, including documenting treatment activities and patient progress.
  • Ensure adherence to infection control protocols and safety standards in the dialysis unit.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education to enhance skills and knowledge.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of a dialysis technician training program preferred.
  • Certification as a dialysis technician must be obtained (and maintained) within designated timeline of 18 months, in accordance with federal regulation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment.
