Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Deli-Bakery Associate to join our team at Military Deli & Bakery Services. As a Deli-Bakery Associate, you will have the opportunity to serve our nation's Military personnel and their families at one of our 103 US Military Commissary locations.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a positive and enthusiastic customer service attitude, providing excellent service to our customers.
  • Slice deli meats and cheeses to customer's requests.
  • Prepare custom party trays and make sandwiches accordingly.
  • Stock and organize displays, including helping with shipments as needed.
  • Ensure proper sanitation of the department, equipment, and proper food handling/preparation.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle stressful situations.
  • Other duties may include cake decorating, baking, rotisserie chicken preparation, or other deli/bakery tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • Willing to cross-train in bakery and deli tasks as needed.
  • Effective and friendly communication skills.
  • Knowledge of basic math and the ability to follow written guidelines.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without accommodation.
  • Ability to stand and walk short distances for an entire shift.
  • Tolerates working in freezers for up to 20 minutes at a time.
  • Team player.
  • Grocery, food service, or retail experience a plus.
  • Some weekend shifts are required.
