Job Summary

Meharry Medical College seeks a skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our team. As a primary care provider, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care, conducting physical exams, and ordering diagnostic tests. This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough patient assessments, diagnose, and treat various health conditions
  • Perform physical exams, order diagnostic tests, and write prescriptions as needed
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest medical knowledge and guidelines to provide evidence-based care
  • Collaborate with faculty physicians to provide comprehensive care to patients
Requirements
  • Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing or a related field
  • Current RN licensure in the State of Tennessee and board certification as an adult or family nurse practitioner
  • Eligibility for a certificate of fitness to prescribe medication in the State of Tennessee, if applicable
  • Strong knowledge of primary care, family medicine, and medical office practices
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications
  • Graduate of an approved adult or family nurse practitioner program
  • Experience working in a primary care or family medicine setting
