Job Summary

UC San Diego Health is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) or Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE) to join our team in the Cardiovascular Center. As a CNS or CNE, you will play a critical role in providing expert clinical care and education to patients, families, and healthcare teams.

Responsibilities

As a CNS or CNE, you will be responsible for providing expert clinical care and education to patients, families, and healthcare teams. This includes developing and implementing evidence-based practices, protocols, and guidelines to improve patient outcomes. You will also collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to address complex patient care issues and develop innovative solutions.

Requirements

A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is required for the Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE) role. A Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN) is required for the Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) role. Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the state of California. Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) license issued by the state of California or licensure/certification in another advanced nurse practice discipline. BLS/CPR certification at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date. Seven (7+) or more years of recent and relevant clinical experience. Expert knowledge of methodology for conducting evidence-based research, data collection, analysis, and reporting. Expert critical thinking and problem-solving skills to assess highly-complex issues and develop multiple options for resolution. Expert skills in written and verbal communications, with the ability to convey highly complex and/or sensitive information in a clear and concise manner. Expert knowledge of one or more clinical specialty areas, and often broad knowledge of multiple specialties. Includes diagnoses, treatments, standards of practice, patient/family educational consulting, and resources. Highly developed interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with management and staff across departments. Provides counsel and guidance on highly-complex issues of functionality, clinical quality, efficiency, and program development.
