Job Summary

Hillcrest Children Center is seeking a highly skilled Mental Health Registered Nurse to join our team. As a Mental Health Nurse Specialist, you will play a critical role in providing compassionate and respectful care to individuals and families in the community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide High-Quality Patient Care: Conduct thorough nursing health assessments, develop and implement individualized treatment plans, and provide crisis intervention and support to patients experiencing mental health challenges.
  • Collaborate with Interdisciplinary Teams: Work closely with psychiatrists, social workers, and case managers to ensure comprehensive care and support for patients and their families.
  • Advocate for Patients: Empower patients and families by educating them on mental health conditions, coping strategies, and available resources.
  • Develop and Implement Evidence-Based Interventions: Provide evidence-based therapies and interventions to promote mental wellness and recovery.
  • Conduct Home Visits and Office-Based Care: Provide excellent care within the office and clients' homes, ensuring continuity of care and support.
Requirements
  • Education and Licensure: Graduation from an accredited nursing program and licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the District of Columbia.
  • Experience: At least one year of experience in psychiatric nursing, with a strong preference for candidates with chronic disease management experience.
  • Certifications: Current CPR Certification.
